Observium alerting interface errors when there are none

Details

    Description

      Hello

I've noticed this issue for a several months and we update observium almost every month.

So this issue has come along with several observium versions.

The version currently running is 25.6.14084 (rolling) (20th June 2025).

      I have an alert checker

      ifInErrors_rate gt 0
      ifOutErrors_rate gt 0
      then send email

As I have a cisco ticket open with issues related to the same interface with different subject then I thought that they are related.

But upon looking deeper today I cannot see any errors on Hundredgig0/0/0/37 on any other NMS where this device is monitored also on 4th of july. I can't see that the device itself has incremented any input error counters.

I cannot see even in observium that there has been any errors on that date on hundredgig0/0/0/37 interface.

But I received an email that there ifinerrors_rate was greater than 0 on 4th of july.

I believe that these alerts are false alerts sent by observium.

Please see the screenshot in attachment.

On the left side there is the email I received.

On the right side there is observium graph.

added a new screenshot about another interface - I can see 0 errors in graphs, but alerts tell me that this interface has had errors.
