    Description

Today I discovered that Observium has more device types available than it did, i don't know, years ago. "Optical" is one of them.

Type for some low hanging fruit should be changed for optical, the ones we use and are aware of - Ciena (a few types, not packet), Infinera, Coriant Groove are included.

Likely more device types should exist, but these are the ones we're positive about.

Optical, shorthand for Optical Network or Optical Transport Network, or layer1 networking gear (vs layer2 aka packet)

.. is what the patch is for and these device types all are definitely in that category. Ie - optical gear that consists of long haul DWDM / EDFA amplifiers / ROADMS / transponders / etc.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'converters' - a media converter?

I originally assumed this type for devices like "Optical Converters", where optic is main transmission medium.
That like "Radio" type for Radio point-to-point devices..

Not sure about all of this OSes in your patch..
