    Description

My colleague Fabian asked for support for these devices a while ago: https://jira.observium.org/browse/OBS-2598

I have (hopefully) figured out how to add it by myself. As mentioned by Fabian the 8310 devices were already supported. I have oriented myself exactly to the implementation of these devices.

Please note that I have also used a kinda new sensor type called "energy" to display the Watt hours. This was added by me previously, see https://jira.observium.org/browse/OBS-1945

Mike removed the support for it afterwards and wanted to add it later, but that never happened. So i just added it again for my install and it works fine for our setup since 2016...

[OBS-2771] Support for GUDE PDU 8311 added

Wow, you are really fast! Thank you very much! We have on e Gude 8310 left in our network. Could you please add support for that as well?

          Just added in r9882.

Somehow the screenshot I uploaded is not visible. This is how my Custom OID entry looks like:

Since Mike has recently added counters to observium it would be great if you could add them to these devices as well.

Currently we are using Custom OIDs to accomplish this:

          Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the quick implementation. Temperature sensors would also be great as we are thinking about using them as well.

This is now added using definitions (no code) in r9440.

I added a couple of additional metrics, but I didn't add the temperature sensor table.

Also, another vendor with per-model MIBs? How very disappointing.

Watthours is a counter, not a sensor. This is why it's not in the sensors system. A sensor is specifically always an discrete measurement, it can't be a cumulative measurement.

We don't yet have generic "counter" infrastructure, though this has been planned for a long time. It's somewhat rare for it to be used, so very few people have asked for it! It'd probably recommend doing it in the "custom oid" section until we add proper support for it.
