    Description

      Hello!
On Observium you can disable MIBs but you cannot load custom/proprietary MIBs so that an equipment can be discovered and polled correctly.

As a suggestion, it should be an easy way to upload MIBs (via web interface or tool?) and then configure a device (observium) to use those MIBs to gather/collect information on that device. I believe this should benefit a lot users when having some difiiculties to identify correctly some devices.

          [OBS-2143] Custom MIBs

i have same question related MIBs, it would be good to some kind of direction about how to add MIBs and what code may/may-not need to change... not expecting grade-1 school document but at least something would be good.

Should we open ticket to get support if new device or mibs?  i have 400 PDUs in datacenter and i love to have them in observium but i can't  i am running some custom script to poll data and feeding in influx ( ungly )

          Hi Adam!
Indeed that is true. But as an example, Observium supports some UPS'es, so why doesn't discovery or polling gather the correct information for those devices (Observium-2110)? Documentation is not very clear (at least for me) on how Observium works with MIBS so that someone can write code and share it. Just a thought...

Support of MIBs requires code to be written. You can't just upload a MIB any more than you can just throw a map of a new country at your wife and expect her to know where the nearest macdonalds is and the best route to it.
