Description
I have several Huawei switches, including models S2326, S2328, and S2320-28. I’ve observed that some of them experience SNMP polling issues unless the “sensors” module is disabled. Disabling this module improves stability during SNMP monitoring.
Upon further investigation, I found that the S2320-28 switches, running firmware versions V200R011C10SPC600 and V200R019C10SPC500, operate without any issues. However, the S2326 and S2328 models are running version V100R006C05 with patches SPH031 and SPH038. Some of these switches only respond properly to SNMP when the “sensors” module is turned off.
Initially, I suspected a problem with the SFP modules. But I noticed that for all affected devices, the SFP module’s serial number is shown as “1” and this same value is applied to all ports in the “Inventory” tab. Moreover, there are no threshold values (alarm or warning) for RX and TX power levels.
I’ve attached SNMP dumps from an S2328 switch that has polling issues and from an S2326 switch that works correctly with the “sensors” module enabled.
