    Description

      Version Information

      Observium 24.10.13678 (14th October 2024)
      OS Linux 5.10.0-33-amd64 [amd64] (Debian 11)
      Apache 2.4.62 (Debian)
PHP 7.4.33 (OPcache: ENABLED) (Memory: 128MB)
      Python 3.9.2
      MariaDB 10.5.26-MariaDB-0+deb11u2 (extension: mysqli 7.4.33)
      SNMP NET-SNMP 5.9
      RRDtool 1.7.2
      Fping 5.0 (IPv4 and IPv6)
      Fetch cURL 7.74.0 (OpenSSL/1.1.1w, LibZ 1.2.11, LibIDN 2.3.0)

I believe there is an issue with SFP data being reported incorrectly with observium.  On the overview page the SFP is showing incorrectly (see screenshot #1), but the serial number is correct.

When going to the inventory tab of my device, the SFP is showing the previous SFP's information under the incorrect ethernet port transciever's voltage (See screenshot #2 and 2_1).  This seems to be apparent across all devices and multiple ethernetports.

          Adam,

Must need to put your glasses on as I explained what the issue was and even circled what the issue was in the screenshots.  Happy to re-iterate the issue here again more plainly.  The Information in the screenshots is what is reporting through observiums dashboard as incorrect.

In screenshot 2_1 (Where the red circle is) you can clearly see where Ethernet 1/9 Transceiver transmit power for FS-SFP1G-LX-31 is showing as having serial number (SN:G2036253724).  The Next SFP (Ethernet 1/12 Transciever Voltage) for FS-SFP1G-LX-31 shows a Serial number (SN:G2036253724).  On the 3rd line the transciever type now changes to Ethernet 1/12 Transciever bias current for FS-SFP10GLR-31, and shows a serial number of (SN:F2210027233).  The other screenshots show this in different areas.

Specifically this will show under the device overview tab on the right side (Screenshot 1), and under the Device inventory (Screenshot 2).  This happens on various different equipment manufacturers and is not vendor specific, and because of this it's also reporting an incorrect SFP type (1gig vs 10gig) in the overview of the device tab.

It's not really clear what you're talking about, because all you've provided is three screenshots full of a load of serial numbers.

I have no idea what any of these are or are supposed to be.

Updating here that looking at screenshot 1 and 2 again, it actually does look like the serial numbers for the SFP are incorrect as well.
