Description
It would be great if cloud infrastructures like AWS or Azure could be monitored as well. In a first version it would be already enough if Observium would collect the information about all VMs and their state (on or off).

We really have no knowledge of any cloud technologies at all. We're a network monitoring platform.
It is true that you are at the moment. But I wanted to bring this up as I think that SNMP will become less and less relevant.
And if you don't want to do the monitoring if the cloud infrastructure with their API then at least it you could do the discovery. And then administrators could install SNMP agents on their VMs.
Monitoring cloud stuff is sort of out of scope for us. We're an SNMP monitoring platform.
I don't want to push you into anything. I am a network person myself. It is just that since several months I am installing many virtual VPN gateways and virtual routers in the big cloud infrastructures. And I need a network monitoring platform which can handle cloud network devices as well. That's why I created this issue. Especially because I think there are many people out there with similar needs than I have.
In the end you as the core team need to decide in what direction you want to go. I just wanted to make you aware that technology is advancing and new (virtual) network equipment is around.
