    Description

      Hello,
I purchased the professional package, I'm trying to set smtp to send notifications via the postfix installed directly on the observium server, if I do a test:

./test_alert.php -d -c 2, i receive a test mail form generate from the server itself:

      ALERT: [cyberpower-pdu.test] [device] up/down,

But  i never receive the alarms when i shut down a device that is already monitored by observium , where im failing?

      Thank you

[OBS-4561] SMTP POSTFIX on local server Observium

We obviously don't provide tutorials for installing Postfix, no.

Maybe ask the people who wrote Postfix?

Furthermore, on the observium system "Recovery notification sent " appears but on the observium  server the mail log result empty.

          Hi Adam,

thank you for info, as per your suggestion I have selected only the boxes indicated by you (I attach the photo), I also see that there are false positives, emails arrive from some devices that have never actually gone offline, are there any other configurations I need to add?

You also do not need to assign any contact to the device (or even create any contacts) if you're only using a single email destination configured as the default in the config.

You seem to have made the classic mistake of clicking every single option possible and then wondering why it doesn't work.

You only need like 2 config options to send mail if you have a working postfix install on your system.

Why have you selected sendmail, and then configured an SMTP server?

You should unset ALL of these options, and only set the from address, the default email address and enable the "default only" option.

          Then it'll probably work.

          adam.
