Poller partitioning documentation is severely lacking

Details

    • Poller
    • Ubuntu/Debian

    Description

At present the only documentation available about how to setup poller partitioning is here:

      https://docs.observium.org/partitioning/

However this documentation is severely lacking, and it is impossible for someone simply reading this documentation to know/understand how to properly use poller partitioning.

It would be helpful if the concept of instances and poller numbers was explained, along with some examples of how to add devices from a secondary poller, and how to switch existing devices to different pollers (for example polling of devices behind a VPN happens for X weeks or months, and now a 2nd poller is added within that network, so as not to rely on VPN connectivity, and we don't want to lose the RRD data by adding the device all over again from the new poller).
