I have not been able to find anything on google, please can you point me in the right direction.

seems it keep on asking for password for root.

I have edited the file located below with https but it keeps reverting to http and port 80

This is not trouble on our svn service, this is your local error with (seems as gnome desktop keyring).
Please try use search engine for search how to fix this.

About last error: use https: in url string
