    Description

To reiterate requests previously entered as OBS-454 and OBS-1147

We need the ability to monitor "PING only" devices.

Our purpose is to monitor network paths "outside" of the SD-WAN logical routes.  We can monitor the individual SD-WAN concentrators on the far end of the tunnel via SNMP; but we also need to be able to monitor the individual paths to each device.

Comment [ As much as I hate to do this, I've had to carve up a separate LibreNMS instance to monitor ping-only devices that have no SNMP capability. Meanwhile, I'll patiently wait for Observium's introduction of the feature and migrate those assets to Observium if it is ever baked into the product. ]

It could be better if it displays also the history of the time responses, currently only shows percent stats. Please keep in mind in a close update!

This has now been added to our documentation.

Note that this doesn't provide just ping-only, but lets you run any available probe against arbitrary hosts, so you can do http/traceroute/etc checks against things that can't be added to Observium.

If we were to implement a secondary device list, it'd basically just be the same as this, but with the need to override the host argument removed!
