    Description

      Hi,

The devices tab shows my devices nicely at the correct location, but on the map there is a point in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. If I hover the mouse over the green mark, it shows the address clearly.

I have not changed anything at the web UI, the default settings are not working. Tested the address at https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org and it can decode the string and it shows the correct map fragment.

I would like to know how to debug where does the GEOLocation fail?

          [OBS-2952] GEOLocation is not working

          Thank you,

You told me 2 relevant things now, which I did not know.

          1. Geolocation is performed during polling
          2. I did not notice the Location tab at the settings before

Looking at the log files, I have seen that during polling it can not go out through my proxy when polling - that is the reason why it can not get the proper coordinates.

The geolocation providers are not very friendly and frequently block requests. This is an issue with the geolocation provider, most likely.

None of the screenshots you provided are helpful, since they don't actually show anything relevant. Geolocation is performed during polling, and doesn't actually have anything to do with the map API.

You need to look in the Geolocation section of the locations tab in settings.

Once you have set the provider to one that works (this has nothing to do with us, it's between you and the provider), you can force a reset to the geolocation on the device's settings page.
