Discovery of ifAlias for Moxa Industrial Switches is blank

    Description

      When discovering Moxa Industrial switches (Moxa-EDS506P, and Moxa-ICS-G7826A), the ifAlias is blank. I believe this is because the MOXA SNMP oid is under enterprises private 1.3.6.1.4.8691.7.(162,199 respectively).

      I would like to map this OID(portName) to the ifAlias field. but unsure where that is code hierarchy as the developing section for ports is still TBD.

          Ok, as I see, ifAliases already polled in current revision.
          But I'm slightly improved it in r10271.

          Only for EDS-P506E.
          Since this switches use per model MIBs, for any other model need same snmp dumps for implementing.

          Has a fix been committed to recent code? I'm 873 revisions behind, because I can't upgrade until this is issues has been committed.

          Hello, we spoke on IRC a few months back, and it sounded like a fix was being implemented, can you tell me if it's been put into a  GA release yet?

          please provide SNMP walks for this device like this : 

          snmpwalk -v2c -c <community> -ObentU <hostname>

          and

          snmpwalk -v2c -c <community> -ObentU <hostname> .1.3.6.1.4.1

          We would also need the specific MIB for the device in question, since we don't currently have MIBs that cover the OIDs you mentioned.

          Moxa are one of those "special" vendors who put everything into a separate OID tree for each device, this makes it very difficult to support them.
