syslog searching keeps page pagination page

When you are searching logs (syslogs) and you drill down 2, 3 or 4th page and you find the information your looking for, if you try to search for some type of content such as an IP address or tracking number, the search results are returned, but the page pagination stays where you were so you cannot see any of your results. The only way to see the results is to manually change the URL pageno=1 or click on page 1. However sometimes if the results do not return more than 1 page you will not even see the page navigation area.
