    Description

      Hi

Running rsyslog through Observium, works initially (as in syslogs appear in SQL DB) but somewhere along the way (~few hours maybe) the DB stops being populated with the syslog entries. Syslog entries still appear in the standard "messages" log file, i have turned on debugging and can see the entry logged in the observium debug.log but still doesn't appear in SQL DB,
Restarting rsyslog resolves this for a few hours until it stops again.
Any pointers on what to check?

      running 0.15.7.6597
      thanks

[OBS-1500] SYSLOG stops being populated to SQL DB

If you see syslog messages in debug log, probably you have troubles with associate syslog host with device.

          Try syslog host_map, see: http://docs.observium.org/syslog/#match-syslog-hostnameip-with-device

Have updated to 7102, problem still persists.
In terms of the previous similar issue which i found here (OBSERVIUM-985), that seemed to relate to pipe's getting tied up to a point where they weren't releasing, I checked for those (as per the previous issue) and they appeared fine (as in there weren't any pipes hanging round), any thing else i can check for, entries appear in debug.log fine
          thanks
