Add support for ADVA ALM Fiber Monitoring

    Description

      Could you please add basic support for the ALM Devices from ADVA? We are using these devices to monitor our fiber links. It would be great if we could log the attenuation values over time and handle alarms about Fibercuts via Observium. 

      SNMP dump and MIB Files are attached

            How can i translate my snmpwalk like you did? I tried it with adding "-M /opt/observium/mibs/adva/ADVA-FSP3000ALM-MIB" to the snmpwalk command.
            If I can translate my current snmpwalk with more connected ports and measurements running I think it would be able to point you in the right direction.

            Main trouble is - I not found DDM sensors in your dump.

            You can see full walk with translated MIBs in attached file.. adva-alm.walk

            You have added it like interfaces from a switch. I guess it would make more sense if you could add it like it was for example implemented with the pandacom devices. I have attached a screenshot from our pandacom CWDM System and also a screenshot from the ADVA ALM Web GUI. These are the values that are interesting for us.

            But they have very limited information about the interfaces, only the port name and description.

            Hi Mike,

            thank you very much for adding support. I just tried it with our installed device. Unfortunately the ports are not showing up.

            It seems like somehow they are being ignored during discovery. I am attaching the output of the Ports Discovery Module.

            Not sure about all possible sensors, I did not find other useful oids (in snmp dump) for monitor.

            Please make and attach additional information about the device:

            • full snmp dump from device: 

              snmpwalk -v2c -c <community>  --hexOutputLength=0 -ObentxU <hostname> .1 > myagent.snmpwalk
              		 
              snmpwalk -v2c -c <community>  --hexOutputLength=0 -ObentxU <hostname> .1.3.6.1.4.1 >> myagent.snmpwalk

              If device not support SNMP version 2c, replace -v2c with -v1.

            • If you have problems with discovery or poller processes, please do and attach these debugs: 

              ./discovery.php -d -h <device>
              		 
              ./poller.php -d -h <device>

            • additionally attach device and/or vendor specific MIB files
